Paddling Against Poverty is hoping to raise $2000.00 with all proceeds going to Canadian Feed The Children. We are incurring all expenses for this trip. It is our hope that you will support us in our endeavour to raise money for the people living in extremely impoverished conditions in developing countries. Poverty is a major cause of illness and death in the world. Consider that many people have no access to clean drinking water, no access to medical care and medicine, suffer from malnutrition and hunger, and live in unsanitary and extremely unhealthy, unacceptable conditions. We hope you will think about these people as you consider helping. A small amount goes a long way in a developing country.
There are several ways you can sponsor and donate. You could email us and let us know that you would like to sponsor us and let us know how much you feel you can pledge. Email us at Paddling Against Poverty. In this way, we will have an idea how close we are to our target goal. You could also fill out our online pledge form and it will remain confidential.
Cheques should be made payable to "Canadian Feed The Children". Please put at the bottom of your cheque, "Paddling Against Poverty". Your cheque could be sent to us to be forwarded to Canadian Feed The Children, or you can send it directly to them. As long as you indicate that it is for "Paddling Against Poverty" we will know how much we all contributed together!
There is also a way to donate online on the website for Canadian Feed The Children. Follow this link Canadian Feed The Children - Donate. Please ensure that in the "Comment" section of the online donation, that you indicate that you are donating for "Paddling Against Poverty".
It is not so much the amount of money you give, but it is the knowledge that people will benefit from any amount. We can’t save the whole world, but we can help people, community by community. That is what we are paddling for, to help a few at a time. Together, with your generous donations, we are all helping people who will greatly benefit from our contributions.
With sincere thanks,
Elayne Francis and Ben Pedersen
